The Selwyn Segal Centre for the Handicapped

The Society for the Jewish Handicapped has proved what can be achieved in this field,
recognising the fact that even though it could do nothing to prevent the birth of an
imperfect child, it most certainly could create an establishment that was a sanctuary of
love and a haven of hope for the less fortunate.

Since its inception, the philosophy of the organisation has always been to recognise the
dignity of the human being, irrespective of looks or intelligence. We believe that all
people are equal in the eyes of the Lord, and also support the belief that all
handicapped people have the right to normal patterns of life. All mentally retarded and
physically handicapped persons belong to us all and they should not be overlooked again.
