April 2008 Nissan 5768
What if you looked forward to Pesach every year but had no one to celebrate
with?
What if you were confined to your bed because of recurring blackouts?
What if you couldn’t climb the stairs and were stuck in a multi-story
building with no elevator?
What would you do?
Where would you turn?
Who would reach out to help you?
Hundreds of our relatives, friends and fellow Jews are residents in Southern
Africa’s Jewish homes for the elderly, handicapped, mentally ill and
children in need.
This Pesach, let’s reach out to them, care for them, let them know they are
not alone.
Through your generosity to ChaiSouthAfrica, you have made a difference in
the lives of the many residents who are cared for at the homes. Scores of
lives have been enhanced thanks to your care and support.
This year, circumstances are worse than ever and needs have escalated. South Africa
faces a worsening electricity crisis. In
Bulawayo, basic resources of food and water are in
short supply. Security concerns and medical needs are increasing monthly
whilst their pensions remain meager.
At Pesach, it is a mitzvah to
invite a stranger to your Seder. Once again, we ask you to invite the
residents into your hearts by making a tax deductible donation to
ChaiSouthAfrica.
Your donation together with many donations made by family members and the
community in Southern Africa will help to cover the costs of providing
essential services to the residents.
This Seder night will be different from all others.
This Pesach, those in need in Southern Africa
will feel your care from across the globe.
You can make an impact and improve many lives.
Please complete the attached form or visit our website at
www.chaisouthafrica.com.
Please consider making a donation as a tribute in honor of your Seder hosts
or in memory of someone now or throughout the year.
Chag Pesach Samayach
to you and your family.
ChaiSouthAfrica committees and all the residents of the homes thank you for
your generosity.
