| December 2005 Kislev 5766 Dear Friend Lighting the Chanukiah is more than simply a reminder of an ancient miracle—it is a potent declaration of the miracles that surround us daily. By lighting the candles, we kindle the lights of knowledge, generosity, hope, memory, security and love. With each day, the light gets brighter making miracles and good fortune more possible. For nearly five years, ChaiSouthAfrica has been dedicated to spreading this light of hope to the elderly, mentally ill, handicapped and “children in need” still living in our birth land. It is the light for Bessie, enjoying a warm kosher meal with friends at Highlands House. For Chaim, feeling productive and needed through his work and interactions at Selwyn Segal. For Dora, living at Beth Shalom, attending a lecture there, staying vibrant and feeling assured that she will always get her heart medication on time. And for Solly, who suffers from dementia, feeling safe in the Sunshine Circle at Our Parents Home. Because of your generosity, their light has become stronger and brighter. At this time of Chanukah, we hope you will continue to spread the light and assist Bessie, Chaim, Dora, Solly and so many others who desperately need your help. Please consider a meaningful tax-deductible donation to ChaiSouthAfrica as part of your year end tax planning. Use the form and envelope enclosed to make a donation now.
