Dear
ChaiSouthAfrica friend
“Even a poor
man, a subject of charity, should give charity. “Zutra Talmud Gittin 7b
Rosh Hashanah
and Yom Kippur are fast approaching, and it is our obligation and time to
fulfill the mitzvah of TZEDAKAH.
The community of
aged, handicapped and “children in need” living in JEWISH RESIDENTIAL
HOMES in Southern Africa relies on your generosity to augment the
efforts in SA and to sustain their homes, their happiness and their lives.
The costs increase, the needs increase, the funds decrease- we CAN however
make a difference!
The situation in
Israel is a source of great concern for us all. Local communities are using
their resources to assist those in need. We must all do our utmost to
support Israel but we must not and cannot forget those in Southern Africa
who still depend on us to live a dignified, safe, healthy and happy
life. These appeals represent the sad reality of those we try to help in
Southern Africa, and for our “family” in Israel. .The only way to ensure
that the residents in SA continue to receive well balanced meals, the
medical care they need, and the safe and nurturing Jewish environment they
deserve is to continue to give a meaningful gift from your heart and make a
tax deductible donation to ChaiSouthAfrica this Rosh Hashanah.
Please share this letter at your Rosh Hashanah table and encourage your
family and friends to join in the mitzvah of Tzedakah. Please forward this
email to your family and friends overseas. We depend on YOUR help in
spreading the word to former Southern Africans all over the world. We are
deeply grateful for your continued support and generosity.
Wishing you and
your family and all Israel a year of Peace and a very happy and healthy New
Year and well over the Fast. Chag Sameach.
Sincerely
The
ChaiSouthAfrica Committee and the residents of all the homes.
